They really ended it by suggesting we shouldn't understand or question the "why" behind serial killer motives because... it could be daring God... and that we're just investigating it to give ourselves hope that life is not meaningless chaos. The producers are definitely biased against the biological basis of behavior which is also obvious in "Revisiting the fault lines" where they act in disbelief at Sapolsky suggesting "free will is biology that hasn't been discovered yet." Still enjoyed the substance of the episode, just not the conclusion reached because it had a non-secular bias and it discourages research with a preconceived notion of it being taboo.
