back to Music City 911. 911,
3:25
what's the location of the emergency? Hello?
3:31
Okay, help me. Tell me where you
3:33
are and I'll get you help. Where
3:35
are you? I'm
3:38
going to... Oh, ****. Watch out, ****.
3:43
Where are you? As
3:48
soon as you tell me where you are I'll get you help. Oh,
3:55
****. Man,
4:05
I'm here. I'm here. Do you have
4:07
a piece of mail you can look
4:09
at that will tell you what you
4:11
need to do? I think it's
4:15
um, I'm just, uh,
4:19
shoot. It's 265 Venture Road.
4:22
265 Venture?
4:29
Do you need police, fire, or medical
4:31
assistance? I don't
4:35
know. Okay, what's going on? Tell
4:37
me what's going on and I'll know what kind of help to send to you. Oh my
4:40
God. So,
4:45
so, basically I was born,
4:47
born in, in,
4:52
in the sky. I don't know.
4:55
It was born. He, he
4:58
broke into the house and I
5:01
didn't have, I grabbed my
5:03
phone so I, do you
5:05
know who the man is? No,
5:08
I don't know who was. Is he still in
5:10
there? I
5:12
don't think so. I'm waiting. I
5:15
hid in my room for like a
5:17
really long time. I don't even know
5:20
how long it's been. Okay,
5:23
you're all on the fence. How
5:26
much? What did he
5:29
look like? Um, it's
5:32
hard to remember but I
5:35
think, uh, uh,
5:38
he had
5:41
like, I don't know,
5:45
um, like, he
5:49
was normal
5:52
height, I guess. Um, I
5:55
had to guess maybe like five, eight,
5:57
I don't know. And, Is
6:00
he black, white, Hispanic? Oh,
6:05
I'm not sure. I
6:09
think that didn't really look that good.
6:12
I only got like, what did he do once he
6:14
got into your house? Well,
6:18
there was, I don't
6:20
think the door was locked, but I don't think
6:23
he knew that there was a
6:25
hammer by the back. Was
6:27
it your hammer, or did they bring it with him? It
6:31
was just the house, it was just by the
6:33
back. It was
6:35
just by the back. They
6:40
grabbed a sink, they stuck it down,
6:42
they grabbed it and broke
6:45
in the window. They broke the window with a hammer
6:47
that you already had in your yard? Yeah,
6:50
with the glass. Okay,
6:53
take a deep breath, you haven't heard them in a
6:55
while, right? What? Was
7:01
there only one person that you saw? That
7:04
I saw, yeah, there was one person. Okay,
7:07
and where are you in the house right now? I'm
7:11
just in the living room. Okay,
7:13
we already have hope on the way, so just take
7:16
a deep breath, okay? Have
7:21
you noticed if anything is missing, did
7:23
they try to make contact with you?
7:27
No, because I
7:29
brought the only thing I was able to grab in
7:31
time were the dogs, because I
7:33
wanted them with me. Whoever
7:36
it was, they killed the lobbyist, they
7:38
grabbed the dogs. I
7:42
have two dogs, I have a small, and I
7:44
have an old people. I
7:47
grabbed them and I ran into
7:50
my room, and I don't think they tried
7:52
to come in because of the pit bull
7:54
barking. I think that's why
7:56
they didn't want to come in. Okay, did
7:58
you hear anything? vehicles or
8:02
do you think they might have come on foot? Do
8:04
you remember the clothes they were wearing? I
8:09
didn't really get a good look at their face,
8:12
so I couldn't tell if they were wearing a
8:14
mask or something. But I get the feeling that
8:16
they probably were, because if they weren't, I would
8:18
have probably been able to see their face. But
8:21
either way, I didn't get a good look,
8:23
so I can't tell. But the
8:27
clothes line, I'm not really sure, it was just
8:29
a blur of like... There
8:31
was just a blur of like, I
8:33
don't know, of like black
8:36
and brown, I guess. I'm not sure. I
8:39
understand. It's okay. Do
8:41
you have any cameras? Oh,
8:44
I'm f***ing close. Your
8:47
f***ing camera was good. Yeah,
8:49
we got one, but... How
8:53
old are there? Anyone else at home with you? Not
8:57
anymore. Were
9:00
you expecting anyone to come home? My
9:05
mom and her boyfriend were out getting...
9:08
They were buying a bed frame for her
9:10
bed, so they were out buying stuff. It
9:12
was just me holding loads. Okay, how old
9:14
are you? I'm
9:17
16 years. Oh
9:19
man, I know this is really scary. But
9:22
your mom and her boyfriend should be on their way home?
9:27
No, they're... Okay,
9:30
take a deep breath. We have officers that are going to
9:32
be coming in. Okay. Okay,
9:37
and officers, we have two officers that should
9:39
be outside in just a moment. Can you
9:41
tell me your name? F***.
9:48
Okay, f***ing really well. You did exactly what
9:50
you should do. And we'll
9:53
get in touch with your parents just
9:55
as soon as officers get there, okay?
10:00
We have officers
10:02
coming. Hey,
10:07
take a deep breath. The
10:12
people that you're hearing, we have
10:14
two officers there, okay? They
10:18
will usually check outside first, so you might
10:20
see flashlights. They'll probably come to the
10:22
door and knock hearing a little bit. It's
10:26
okay. Do you
10:28
still have your dogs with you? They're
10:30
just still in my room. I didn't want them
10:32
out because I didn't want them getting blood over
10:35
all of their paws. Right,
10:37
right. Did you say blood all over
10:39
their paws? Yeah,
10:41
I can see. Is
10:44
there blood inside your house? Yes.
10:48
Whose blood is it? Your
10:53
blood, or is it the person who broke
10:55
in blood? Are you injured? I'm
10:57
fine. You're fine?
11:00
It's the person who broke in their blood? Where is
11:02
it at? I
11:05
don't know if it's their blood or not, but
11:07
I don't think it's theirs. My
11:09
mom, she threw what I heard when
11:11
I was hiding in my room. I
11:14
couldn't warn her. The
11:17
client had been able to grab the phone, then...
11:20
Nothing is your fault. If someone broke in their
11:23
house, nothing is your fault. I just want
11:25
to confirm, do you know if anyone is
11:27
hurt at your house? I have no idea.
11:36
Should there be a car that's outside?
11:40
Yeah, my mom would have been throwing the phone.
11:42
My mom cleared and then your girl would be
11:44
outside. Okay,
11:46
it's alright. Take a deep breath. My
11:51
mom hid her in
11:53
her place right there. Okay,
11:56
what... okay, your mom's there?
12:00
Okay, is that the officer
12:02
that is at the door
12:04
knocking? Are
12:07
the officers at the door knocking? Hold
12:11
on one
12:13
second, let me make sure, but I think it is. Just
12:15
hold on for me. Okay,
12:21
it is the officer. I'm going to disconnect with you
12:23
and you can go to the door. They're there for you,
12:25
okay? Okay,
12:27
I'm leaving your light. Yes, yes,
12:29
it's good to go. It's good to go. You're
12:32
safe to go to the door. Okay?
12:36
Okay, thank you. You're welcome. Bye-bye.
12:40
Just after midnight on July 7, 2024
12:43
in Palm Bay, Florida, dispatch
12:46
received this call from 16-year-old
12:48
Julia Eggler stating an unknown
12:50
man had broken into her house. The
12:53
call, start to finish, was
12:56
about nine and a half minutes long. She
12:58
sounded distraught during the entire call,
13:01
having trouble at the very first of the call to even
13:03
give her address. The description
13:06
of the suspect that was given was very
13:08
vague. As Julia said, she didn't really
13:10
get a good look at him. She
13:12
couldn't tell his race or age, but
13:15
believed he was medium height, which
13:17
would have placed him around 5'8 or so. She
13:21
did know that he used a hammer that belonged there
13:23
at the house to break in through a glass door.
13:27
She said she was in the living room, but
13:29
her dogs were put away in the bedroom. Towards
13:32
the end of the call, she mentions
13:34
that again, but stated
13:37
she didn't want them to get blood on their paws. Julia
13:41
said she wasn't bleeding and didn't think that
13:43
the blood belonged to the burglar either. About
13:47
that time, police got to the scene and started
13:49
doing a routine 360 of the house,
13:51
which is pretty standard for any burglary, trying
13:54
to see if the suspect is still inside or
13:57
in the yard or immediate area. The
14:00
dispatcher got busy when the officers asked if there should
14:02
be a vehicle in the driveway.
14:05
This question would be asked to further inquire
14:07
about a potential suspect. If
14:10
the Toyota truck belonged there, then it
14:12
likely isn't the suspect's car. But
14:15
if not, the suspect
14:17
may still be around. The
14:20
call overall was pretty slow moving with the
14:22
info. Caught between cries
14:24
from Julia. One
14:27
police started knocking on the door, and that
14:29
was about the time Julia started saying something
14:31
about her mother while still crying. At
14:34
that point, she answered the door and started talking
14:37
to officers. They
14:39
found the broken out door Julia mentioned as well as
14:41
the blood. Julia
14:43
started talking with a detective outside about what
14:45
happened. She repeated a
14:48
lot of what was said in the phone call. That
14:50
she was home alone and heard loud noise,
14:53
the mail trying to break into the house. Immediately
14:56
she grabbed her dogs and locked herself and
14:58
the dogs into the bedroom. Julia
15:01
stated she left her phone in the living room on the
15:03
couch. She said she
15:06
waited for about an hour before she left the room
15:08
to call. During
15:10
that hour though, she said she
15:12
heard her mom and her mom's boyfriend arrive home.
15:16
There were some loud arguing, then
15:18
Julia heard some loud noises. Looking
15:23
up a bit, when police first got there,
15:25
they went through the house room to room where
15:28
they found two dead bodies. Julia's
15:31
mom, Kelly, in the living room,
15:34
and her mom's boyfriend, Matthew, in
15:37
the bathroom. The
15:39
loud noises were gunshots. The
15:42
detective continued talking with Julia. She
15:45
said when she exited the bedroom, she saw
15:47
the blood and then saw Matthew laying there
15:50
dead. She
15:52
then walked into the living room and found her mom. She
15:56
said that her mom generally kept the bedroom door
15:58
locked to protect valuables and it was was kicked
16:00
in. Julia walked
16:02
in and found that a gun holster was
16:04
lying there empty and ammunition
16:06
was missing. Police
16:09
found the gun in the backyard just behind
16:11
Julia's bedroom. It was
16:13
a .38 caliber revolver. Due
16:16
to the crime scene, a residential search
16:18
warrant was written up and signed by a
16:20
judge so a thorough investigation into the murders
16:22
could be started. While
16:24
searching the house, police found
16:26
spent shell casings in the bathroom
16:29
next to Matthew. On the bathroom
16:31
counter, laid a chef's knife with blood
16:33
on it. There was
16:35
a trail of blood leading down the hallway going
16:38
down into the bathroom. Bloody
16:40
footprints were also present where Julia had walked
16:42
through the blood. As
16:45
stated before, police also found the broken out
16:47
sliding glass door in the back of the
16:49
house with the glass looking like
16:51
it was broken from the outside of the house
16:53
and falling inside. This was
16:56
nearby where Julia's mom, Kelly, was found,
16:59
but that's when police made a
17:01
startling discovery. They
17:04
found broken glass on top of Kelly's
17:06
leg. Matthew's cell
17:08
phone was also found nearby on a
17:10
TV console. Broken
17:12
glass was found on top of that too, but
17:16
the thing that made the least sense, the
17:18
glass was found on top of the bloody
17:20
footprints. Welcome
17:23
home. A
17:26
strange statement that is welcome
17:28
home. That's
17:30
what Kelly and Matthew heard just after they
17:32
arrived home and walked inside the house at
17:34
10.34 p.m. That
17:37
was just before they were shot by
17:41
Julia. After
17:43
giving her initial statement to police in her
17:45
backyard, Julia was taken to
17:47
the police station for further questioning. She
17:50
gave the same statement again. Someone
17:52
broke into the house. She locked herself in
17:55
the bedroom, then her arguing
17:57
and loud noises that were presumed to be
17:59
gunshots. plus
