This week Dan teaches Ed about Lance Armstrong winning his seventh consecutive Tour De France, sort of...
Lance Armstrong begins cyclying from a young age and is doing really well. He joins the USA Olympic team, turns pro and early on wins a whole bunch of titles on the cycling circuit. But he is soon diagnosed with cancer, but recovers and sets up a foundation. He very quickly returns to cycling and this is when he begins to smash the Tour De France and wins it seven years running from 1999 to 2005. Years later in 2012 he is found guilty of doping and stripped of all his titles and banned from cycling for life. In 2013 he admits to Oprah Winfrey that he had been cheating since 1998.
Somehow we also end up discussing... Ant & Dec... Boris Bikes... Dan pretending to be James Bond...Ed getting merry at a wine and cheese party... Dan's small spanner...going to the 2012 Olympics to watch the beach volleyball...Dan not being able to repair a puncture...Ed getting stitched up on a cycle ride...how many croissants cyclists need to eat in the Tour and much much more...
