My favorite audio drama podcast. All star cast. Great editing. Intriguing storyline.
I don't like very many audio dramas, but this one hooked me right away. Highly recommended.
The voice acting was great! I was like a movie in my head.
Mystery + psychological drama.Top quality writing, playing, soundWhat gets me most is abundance of amazing charismatic characters.
Familiar voices, great storyline and insteresting topic. Love the background noise as it makes you feel like you're with them as the story unfolds.
One of the most successful audio fictions ever - both on its own merits and the fact it was adapted into an Amazon TV series - Homecoming is an engaging series about covert schemes manipulating wounded US soldiers.Despite being Gimlet's first major fiction release, Homecoming is a sleek production. Sound is used sparingly and carefully to convey the awkwardness of therapy sessions or the passive aggressiveness of phone calls. Editing is patient, allowing scenes to play out at the required pace. Characters are well written and acted, with David Scwimmer notably excellent. It is a shame that the show seems to have inexplicably halted after just two seasons as there is so much potential for more revelations and cast additions. Perhaps Gimlet, or their Spotify overlords, deemed it mission accomplished when it was bought for television and decided the listeners who made it a success no longer deserved the podcast.
Amazing story. Dramatic, emotive, compelling and captivating. The production quality was very high, and the actors were superb. I had to listen to the whole series twice.
Great story, loved it. Need to watch the show now ??
Star-studded and suspenseful
Great production and acting. Fantastic writing, characters and story. Engaging and enjoyable to the end. Loved it!
Great concept, great sound, great voice actors. Genuinely one of the best audio stories I've heard in a while. And I love the touch that they added an accompanying book series! Would get a 5/5 for me but it was never completed, leaving the mystery unsolved.
First season was great. The second season ruined it for me - what was with that godawful music?
Great for binging on a long road trip
Great voice acting. I love podcast stories that are just audio of whatever's happening, as opposed to an audiobook where you just hear someone reading to you (which I've always hated). At the same time, bad/corny voice acting in a podcast is a major ick for me. This podcast incorporates all the storytelling elements in a way that feels very natural. Enthralling. Great plot.
Amazing production and voice acting. Bit of a slower burn with great reveals. Only complaint was that it felt unfinished.
Really cool to follow along with the caseworker as she tries to figure out everything that's going on.
I experienced this one long before the TV show and honestly, even having picture didn't add much to the depth of storytelling and quality of production. Celebs and star screenwriters aside, Homecoming has a spot in 21st century audio drama history.
I did really enjoy this podcast. The cast seemed perfect.
