I am shocked this show is so popular. It shows how little human decency is left in the world. Of course the girls get along well and sometimes its fun to listen to their banter. But most of the time, they are glorifying violence, worshipping serial killers as if they're rockstars, even to the point of buying their merchandise and promoting it on their widely-listened to podcast. Glorifying killers in this way has been proven by crime analysts to increase the likelihood of more serial killers and murders - a fate I guess Desi and Rachel want to occur, so they have more content to giggle over inappropriately. The victims are never the heart of their podcasts. For D and R, the victims are there to be laughed at and to entertain our morbid curiosity but their families or their memory are never treated with care or respect, and permission from the families is of course, never even attempted. This behaviour retraumatises the victims of the most brutal crimes in the world, but I guess it's fine, because Desi and Rachel think it's funny. I only hope that nothing bad ever happens to either of them, and turns them into a public laughing stock in their worst moment, so they can understand how much they truly hurt people. Ending their podcast with what they made for dinner is inane and mind-numbing, and proves that they think the lives of the victims they discuss is about as important as microwaved Taco Bell leftovers.
