🚨🚨Trigger Warning🚨🚨

Today we are talking about the sensitive topic of suicide. September was suicide prevention month. And as a mental health professional, I think it’s important to highlight the topic. So if hearing about suicide triggers you in any way, please do not listen to this episode. If you or someone you know struggle with suicidal thoughts and need help, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

We have a special guest with us today, Sherrell Richmond. Sherell is getting super vulnerable with us—sharing about heartbreak, the struggles of being single with depression and anxiety, and even her struggles with suicide. God preserved her life for purpose, and she’s telling all today. Do not miss this episode!

Sherrell’s bio

My name is Sherrell Richmond, I am a 32 year old single mother of twin beautiful girls, who are now 13 years old. I am also a Senior Pharmacy Tech, which I've been doing for 11 years. I am the youngest of 3 and my parents have been together for 43 years. In this season of my life, I just got baptized on September 19, 2024, and I will say, that moment felt soooo amazing and it's a moment I will never forget. Right now, not only am I on my spiritual journey, but I'm also just starting to learn Sherrell mentally. I'm in an area in my life where I'm trying to find out who God says I am. I also just became the founder of an organization called ;UST BBOLD and yes! it is spelled just as is, which means "JUST", but, other than that, I am just so happy that I was asked to be a part of your podcast, because I know I still have some healing to do.

Feeling incomplete after a failed relationship(s)? Think you need a man to be fulfilled in life? Wondering why you stayed in that toxic relationship? Tired of the constant confusion about who you are? Weighed down by negative thoughts? Wish you knew what you were created to do? And do you wonder where the heck God is in the midst of all this?In this podcast you will find out how I came to be complete in God. I will share how I finally moved forward in my life by healing from past heartbreaks and ditching the negative mindset, identity confusion and that nagging feeling of purposelessness. I also pull from my background in psychology to help you examine your own patterns of behavior and think about why you do what you do. My mission is to help you walk into the fullness of who you are by providing biblical principles along with practical tips to heal your heart, grow spiritually, find your true identity, break toxic behavior patterns while establishing healthy ones, and discover your purpose. If you’re ready to leave behind toxic cycles that lead to a broken heart and emptiness and grab a hold of wholeness and purpose. You’re in the right place.Hey sis! I’m Kandice–a faith-led wife and mother walking in purpose, who also has a background in psychology; but this wasn’t always the case. I remember being single, thriving in my career as a school psychologist, and faking a smile everyday. People thought I had it all together on the outside, but inside I was heartbroken and unfulfilled with my life. Plus, I wasn’t sure about who I was. You see, I wanted to be married more than anything, and knowing my identity wasn’t important to me; so I dated a lot, looking for men to validate me and tell me who I was. I went from relationship to relationship; but instead of finding my soulmate with whom I would spend the rest of my life, I found disappointment and more heartbreak. Each time I walked away from a failed relationship, I left a little piece of my heart behind. Not to mention, I never took time to really heal and examine my own behaviors. Then, in 2015, the last failed relationship shattered my heart in a way that I couldn’t put it back together on my own, and I knew no man would be able to put it back together either. Something in my life had to change. I finally realized that if my heart was ever going to be truly healed, and if I was ever going to be truly fulfilled in my life, I was going to have to partner with God in the healing process. God showed me how to use biblical principles to move on from heartbreak, become a faith-led woman, discover my true identity, and find purpose. I made small changes in my behavior that I could maintain and stay consistent with while still having fun and enjoying my life in the process. Those small changes led to grand results; I am ready to share all my experiences, wisdom, and “small changes” with you!If you are ready to finally shut that revolving door of heartbreak after heartbreak, stop the constant confusion about who you are and why you’re here, and you’re looking for results like strong faith, positive thinking, peace in your mind, healthy behavior patterns, and contentment in your life–this podcast is for you!Sis, kick off those shoes that’s been hurting your feet all day, and pour yourself a cup of your favorite hot beverage! You deserve this moment for yourself sis! Let’s dig in!
