The Special Education Law Flash Briefings explores common and specific disability law related questions of education graduate students, general and special education teachers, administrators, and other education professionals serving students with disabilities. Inquiries typically include questions about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). While these flash briefings are designed to support the learning of educators, service providers, and administrators, they may also be beneficial for parents, caregivers, para professionals, disability law professionals, and anyone else interested in disability law and students with disabilities. Specific topics include, but are not limited to, FAPE (free appropriate public education), LRE (least restrictive environment), the development and implementation of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), disability case law, guidance from OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs), OSERS (Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services), and OCR (Office of Civil Rights), special education services, related services, supplementary aides and services, accommodations, and modifications, and federal rules and regulations governing the IDEA, Section 504, and ADA.
