This show is absolutely stunning. Love seeing how the characters grow and challenge these situations they find themselves in while trying to save the world. Shout to Sylorin and Parax for being my fave buddies who hate each other!

Its storytelling abilities are incredible, and it has drawn me into a world to which I've never given much thought. Since starting to listen, I dove into Dungeons and Dragons and have started playing myself! 10/10 would recommend to any and all.

This podcast is really well done and engaging. Very approachable even if you're not familiar with the rules of Dungeons and Dragons. It's inspired me to play my first campaign with my husband!

This is just an all around well done, super entertaining show.From the character builds, to the cast, the storyline, the curveballs thrown at the dm... This is truly great adventure story to follow. The game play and banter make me feel like I could pass the snacks around the table. The ambient sounds and fun character accents help transport the listener into Ravnica. There’s a full range of story telling that could have you laughing literally out loud (1,2,3) to worrying for the characters. You will never know quite what any episode will bring, which is why I can hardly wait for each episode to arrive. You don’t have to know d&d to enjoy this show, but it could spark the itch. Keep ‘em comin!

I don't know who let John Craig stan a podcast, but they are clearly on to something

This podcast is a step above your typical podcast, both in terms of story driven content, but also in editing, and audio quality. They have a great cast of lovable actors, and endearing characters that you just can't seem to get enough of. I highly recommend giving them your time to listen through the content, and then bask in the after-party glow of punchy and candid interviews. They are developing a strong following because they are most definitely doing something RIGHT!

This is the only listenable actual play I have found, and it is truly excellent.

I have recently embraced my nerdy side and binged “Hello from the Magic Tavern” while playing Catan on my cell phone, so I needed this podcast to step up my nerd game. It is so easy to follow and so much fun to listen to!

I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for close to 20 years. A coworker had suggested I check out Critical Role if I wanted a tRPG podcast to listen to, but I couldn't get into it. That being said, a fellow alumnus recommended Encounter Party and I got sucked in right away. I realized why it was different: the episodes are so tightly and exquisitely edited that they are just so EASY to listen to! In addition to having a great story and a lovely cast, they cut through the fluff and chaos inherent in D&D sessions and get right to the parts that drive the stories forward. Listening back to Critical Role, I appreciate what they're doing but I find myself thinking "can we get to the point please?" whereas I have NEVER thought that while listening to Encounter Party. Great podcast, great D &D story, and listening to the Party encouraged me to reach out to old friends and get some of my own campaigns going! Thanks you guys! Keep the Party going!

An amazing set of professional individuals from different careers use their improv skills to bring on an original story through a live play of dungeons and dragons. You get everything: comedy, action, bromance, horror, deception, etc. Except there is no professional wrestler which they substitute with a Mob Boss who has a sidekick who reminds you to not skip leg day. In a world where everything can be taken from and give nothing back, these folks give you that something back. Just ask for the Special Special.

This is my favorite podcast and I always listen to the episodes at work. It's a great way to make the time pass quickly, because it's easy to get sucked into the world that Brian has made the story about. His story has been a series of amazing battles and great discussions that make it feel almost real. Hearing the now known sound before a nat 20 is so exhilarating, it's almost like I rolled it myself. I this k each and every person who makes and produces Encounter Party, and I thank Brian especially for introducing it to me all that time ago.

Very professional editing. All the entertainment without the downtime. A well-executed dungeons and dragons campaign podcast. Other podcasts or streams, even incredibly popular ones, have so much time commitment. This one is bite sized and every moment matters. Great humor and fun in every episode!

Encounter Party! immediately became my top priority podcast, as I was always waiting for the new episode to come out - pausing anything I may have been in the middle of when it released. It seems each live play podcast has a different specialty, and this one is all about the story. Organized into episodes that aren't too long, or filled with too much randomness, DM Brian and his amazing cast of players build a world and stories that truly capture the listeners' imagination. Even in looking back at episode descriptions I can picture some of the events in my mind and how these moments made me feel. From tragic ends to beloved characters to beautiful descriptions of fungi, having a cast made up of professional performers brings the quality of the storytelling and play up to another level. Somehow, the interstitial short campaigns between seasons (which have a bit more lighthearted feel to them) were even more fun than the main seasons, creating some of my favorite moments.This podcast is truly gripping, hilarious, and completely changed the way I play D&D. I can not recommend it highly enough.

I love everything about this! It's a great DnD story but it's not ever bogged down. I can listen to each episode in a morning before work. Also all the actors are great at both voicing and playing there characters. It's a delight to listen to. Finally the story is great! Judkins has come up with a cool story and I adore the location and theme of Ravnica. As a magic the gathering fan and a DnD fan this checks all the boxes!

Whew boy. Finding and actual play podcast that is 1. Easy to listen to, 2. Not a chore to binge, either to catch up or just to listen through again for things you might have missed the first time through, and 3. Has an amazing DM and players that are totally committed to what the shows goals are as a whole. Well, look no farther than Encounter Party. I have listened to quite a few DnD podcasts. Some are great! Some are good, but just not for me. Encounter Party in on the *very* short list of DnD shows that I listen to religiously. It grabbed me the first time that I listened to it and I am nearly done listening to the first 2 season all the way through again. It is so easy to listen to. And one of the shows I look forward to showing up in my feed. I could go on, but I think I will leave it at this. If you are looking for an Actual Play, DnD podcast, I normally recommend 3. Encounter Party is *easily* in that group that I recommend for those looking for DnD podcasts.
