Dr. Robin M. James is a writer and editor. Currently, she is an editor for Philosophy, Literary Theory, and Music & Sound Studies at Palgrave Macmillan. She is also a digital sound artist and musician, and also is a member of citation:obsolete.Previously, James was an Associate Professor of Philosophy at University of North Carolina Charlotte. She is an expert in pop music and feminism, gender, and race, pop music and politics, sound studies, and electronic dance music studies.James's writing has appeared in Jezebel, The Guardian, LARB, Real Life, BELT Magazine, The New Inquiry, SoundingOut!, Hypatia, differences, and the Journal of Popular Music Studies. She has published four books including "Resilience & Melancholy: Pop Music, Feminism, Neoliberalism." and "The Sonic Episteme: Acoustic Resonance and Biopolitics."
