David Suzuki is an academic, science broadcaster, and environmental activist. He is best known for hostin the CBC program "The Nature of Things."Suzuki has hosted several television and radio series and documentaries, and has written several books about nature and the environment. He is also known for his political activism on the subject of global climate change. He co-founded the David Suzuki Foundation, which focuses on oceans, climate change, and sustainability.Suzuki received his Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Chicago. He was a professor in the genetics department at the University of British Columbia from until his retirement in 2001.
